Social Activities

LOSSC has an excellent social programme organised by the Social Committee which usually now take place in the signal station bar. The views over the Solent give a beautiful backdrop and, when the weather is kind, members love to make use of the patio. For some of our larger or more formal events we are using other venues, such as the Golf Club for the Spring Ball and Laying Up Supper..

There are regular club events like the Friday evening suppers which are always well attended, providing a relaxing end to the week where those attending hope to win the weekly snowball draw as well as a regular  raffle prizes. There is a full programme of social events which include annual evenings such as the Fitting Out and Laying Up suppers as well as BBQs, quizzes and Mah Jong nights which are popular with sailing and social members alike. During the sailing season Open Meetings and the Sailing Programme provide other opportunities for a diverse range of social events.

Members are welcome to bring guests to the club, but to comply with the licensing arrangements they must be signed in. No guest may be signed in more than 6 times in any year and so if you wish your guest to attend the club more frequently they must apply for one of  the categories of membership.
